Cooking Classes

Experience a hands on Cambodian Cooking Class in our bamboo pavilion.  Learn to make two Cambodian dishes with one of our head chefs and enjoy your creation following the class.   Classes include a short visit to a local family to learn about food customs and beliefs within the village.

Bookings are essential and can be made at reception.  Classes are $22 per person and a maximum of six participants will be involved in any class.  Classes are currently held at 1.30pm most days and take around 2.5 to 3 hours per class.

Treak Village Walk & Talk - Part of the Treak Village Enrichment Program

Explore Treak Village on our Walk and Talk tour.  Your walk and talk guide will take you through the village showing you the Cambodian way of life.  The tour takes in the village, rice fields,  a beautiful pagoda and the ancient Wat Athvea temple.  This is a chance to meet some of the locals, capture some sensational pictures and gain an insight into life in Siem Reap behind those few tourist streets.

The tour length ranges as each person is different, we recommend you allow 1.5-2 hours for the tour.  While tours can be arranged at anytime of day we recommend either early in the morning or later in the afternoon.

Treak Village Enrichment Program

In conjunction with the Village Chief of Treak Village Sojourn has developed a community enrichment program to help improve the lives of the people living in Treak Village.  In 2009 this program will address four key areas;

1. Provision of water filters

2. Repair and provision of water wells

3. Rubbish collection

4. Tree grants

50% of the tour fee from our Treak Village Walk & Talk Tour is contributed to this program along with 7% of Sojourns annual profit.  We are extremely excited by this program and pleased to announce that our first 15 filters will be installed by the end of February 2009.
