We don’t run big group tours, this is all about individual experience and attention. Take advantage of joining this tour and exploring some of Angkor’s outlying treasures. Our trip includes the most intricately carved temple in all of Angkor, the River of 1000 Lingas and some of the earliest Angkorian Temples.

We begin our tour at the same place some of the earliest Angkor Temples were built. The Roluos group dates to the late 9 th century and is an ideal place to start today’s adventure.
Explore Preah Ko ‘The Sacred Ox’, the small temple of Lolei where some beautiful examples of Sanskrit can be found. Here you are given an incredible insight into the Pagoda that sits next to Lolei. From here we journey to Bakong Temple is a place with an infamous past where thousands of local villagers were put to death at the hands of the Khmer Rouge. This temple is also unique as it still houses an active pagoda where Monks chant in ancient languages.

We then journey through local villages to Banteay Srei. Along the way your guide will talk about life in Cambodias villages. The beliefs, stories and goings on of rural life in Cambodia. For photo enthusiasts this is a great chance to capture some amazing shots. Your guide will be happy to stop and explain sights along the way. For example we often pass rice in various stages of harvest, incense preparations or wedding parties.

We arrive at Banteay Srei – ‘Citadel of the Women’ the most intricately carved temple in all of Angkor. This pinkish hued temple is adorned with beautiful, deep carvings and often leaves viewers amazed at its detail. Learn the stories behind this masterpiece and capture some incredible photos.

From Banteay Srei we head across to Kbal Spean. Enjoy a 45min walk in beautiful jungle up to the alluring carved river. Your packed lunch can be enjoyed along route. Kbal Spean is an incredible place. Known as the river of 1000 lingas. The carved river bed is a sight to behold. Your guide will share with you some of the very special stories from this place. Whilst wet season is an ideal time to visit the dry season is also worthwhile, although water may not be flowing.

Banteay Samre this is an amazing temple and often left out of guide books. This makes for a far quieter visit, a great temple minus the crowds. Your guide will help explain some of the history behind this incredible temple.

• As we spend time in Lolei Pagoda please do not wear any revealing clothing.
• You require a valid Angkor temple pass to visit these temples.
• You must be ready to depart from The Villa reception at 7.30am
• You do not have to be staying at The Villa to join this great tour
